Formerly known as the ‘original’ DJ X, that_1 was inspired by the German’s deep dark synths since day one. He began his career in 1986 by breaking sound barriers on live radio mix shows directly from his early club residencies across South Texas. In 1990, the Rave Scene exploded into the U.S. with UDM (Underground Dance Music) which forever changed the music industry and that_1’s style of sound. European Techno, New York House, and Breakbeat flowed through that_1’s veins into sonic sets which made him an after-hours aviator at numerous warehouse parties. that_1 and DJ Chaos formed the FBI Crew (Funk Brothers Inc) in Texas alongside other crews such as: Noah’s Ark, NASA Project, T-S.T.O.R.M., Loops On Productions, Soundworx, System 7, Energetik & Matrix Crew. From the mid 90s and into the early 2000s, UK Trance music roared across the states with other music genres such as Funk-Trance, Trip Hop and early Florida Breaks. that_1 embraced all of this into his sets and kept evolving by devastating dance floors across the U.S.​

Follow any packed party and you could easily catch that_1 performing across the following iconic venues: Area 52, Klub X, Sublime, Zazoo, Cocktails’, Bonham Exchange, Club 1, Hyperia, OHMS, The Mixx, TWILO and Crobar, just to name a few. Then in 2015, VOXHTX (The Voice of Houston’s Underground) was created by that_1’s reputable resources and colleagues known throughout the decades. that_1 now hosts VOXradio shows along with some mesmerizing VOXevents.
